The Department of Teacher Education seeks a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the Program Coordinator position. The Program Coordinator will provide comprehensive support to students and faculty within the Department of Teacher Education. This includes:
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
Required Experience
Three to five years related experience in higher education (equivalent experience may be considered).
Primary Duties/Essential Functions
The Program Coordinator reports directly to the Chair, the Department of Teacher Education, as part of a team of support staff serving credential and masters’ programs in the division. Specifically, s/he will serve in the following capacities:
Serves as confidential assistant to one or more Program Directors. This includes:
* Assisting with administrative responsibilities within the program, including appropriately preparing and responding to correspondence, tracking, and following all program-related issues.
Serves as liaison between students and the Department of Teacher Education. This includes:
* Coordinating the student admission process from admission through completion for a specific portion of the student population, including tracking and monitoring enrollment, progression toward credential and/or degree, and completion.
Provides support to full and adjunct faculty within the department. This includes:
* Coordinating with full and adjunct faculty to ensure timely preparation of adjunct contracts and faculty payment forms as necessary.
