    Job Description

    _ Broad Function and Purpose of Position :_ Manage the evaluation of Sika products, raw materials, and intermediates for conformance to Sika quality specifications and comply with all Quality Assurance standards. This position is responsible for the overall coordination and management of the Quality Control department and Quality Systems at the facility. Qualified candidate will carry out Quality Managers related responsibilities in accordance with Sika USA’s policies, procedures and applicable laws.

    ** Specific Responsibilities:**

    • Ensure the QC workplace is safe and in compliance with all Sika safety and EHS policies
    • Manage all Quality related departmental activities: supervise employees, ensure proper testing and related documentation
    • Actively manage all appropriate parts of Sika QMS for the facility
    • Work very closely with local production. Supporting plant and corporate initiatives
    • Effectively manage batch production including adjustments
    • Actively be part of the NA Quality team
    • Work with suppliers and third parties to resolve quality and or specification issues
    • Work with R&D supporting new product and process introductions
    • Work on multi-functional teams supporting Sika initiatives for safety, commercial as well as technical initiatives
    • Champion data driven analysis of First Pass Yield, Overall Conformance and Customer Complaints (QIRs) that lead to continuous improvement in these areas
    • Effectively investigate Quality compliant investigation, Root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Provide timely results of non-routine samples
    • Communicate effectively to all supervisors, co-workers, and plant personnel
    • Offer ideas and plans for continuous improvement for safety and laboratory processes
    • Maintain a working inventory of all labs supplies and chemicals
    • Accurately calibrate, control, and maintain lab instruments
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Effectively use SAP to manage lab activities
    • Performs other duties as assigned by management
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • B.S. degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Sciences, or Natural Science.
    • 5+ years lab experience with batch production processes (wet or dry)
    • English language proficiency. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
    • Working knowledge/experience with SAP or JDE is preferred
    • Familiarity with PLC and batch logic is a plus
    • Proficiency working with QMS, ISO 9001
    • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent communication skills and able to communicate to all levels of management
