RESEARCH DATA ANALYST I, School of Medicine, Anatomy & Neurobiology
The position is a bio informaticist/research data analyst in Anatomy & Neurobiology in the Roussarie lab. The lab produces a significant amount of genomics data of many different types and needs assistance with data processing. They require the use of established and in some cases computational pipelines that might need to be developed from previously existing methods.
The position will perform calculations on all of these genomics data and help with other computational and statistical problems encountered by lab members.
All the data processing will need to be done in close partnership with other lab members since the lab members generating the data are the ones who master the biology behind their experiments.
The successful candidate will have to display skills pertaining to computational methods and will be expected to become proficient with neurobiology over time while working with the lab's experimentalists. The individual will provide assistance to students from the lab and support statistically sound genomics experiments and will therefore have to effectively build rapport with all lab members.
The candidate will ideally have master's level training in bioinformatics and be familiar with computation of the most common types of genomics data (bulk RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, single nucleus RNAseq etc…) and will be expected to apply this knowledge for calculations on the lab's experimental data.
