    Job Description

    Emseal, A Sika Company, is a manufacturer of premium sealants and expansion joint systems for the commercial construction industry and many specialty market applications.

    This position will be responsible for promoting, specifying, and selling EMSEAL’s full line of structural expansion joint & pre-compressed sealant products to commercial contractors throughout the North Central region. This role involves closing deals and increasing sales, safeguarding margins, building strong customer relationships and expanding customer base, providing technical support, and achieving sales targets. This role will also attend trade shows, manage reps and distributors, and represent Emseal on jobsites. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, goal driven, have strong presentation and negotiation skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Travel nearly every week within region promoting and selling Emseal’s full line of structural expansion joint & pre-compressed sealant products.
    • Conduct small group, large group, and one-on-one presentations in firms of architects, engineers, distributors and construction contracting firms.
    • Represent EMSEAL on jobsites **** during installation demonstrations, inspections and walk through, and complaint resolution meetings.
    • Communicate technical concepts, explanation and justification of quotations, negotiation and closing of sales, and generate frequent and regular written and verbal communications with clients and prospects throughout the day.
    • Attend and exhibit at tradeshows and other industry events to promote and demonstrate the product line using computer-based presentation tools, physical samples, and hands-on demonstrations.
    • With the assistance of the Regional Sales Manager, facilitate complaints and negotiate compromise resolutions to benefit involved parties.

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales or a related field
    • Highly motivated self-starter who is an active team player with effective verbal, phone, presentation and written communication skills.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, management, vendors, reps, and customers.
    • Exhibit high standards of ethical conduct, honesty and integrity.
    • Detail oriented, organized and enjoy being a part of a very fast-paced business environment; ability to multi-task and see tasks through to completion.
    • Encourage and facilitate cooperation, pride, trust, and group identity. Foster commitment and team spirit.
    • Look at problems creatively and take initiative to try something innovative.
    • Make decisions. Ability to assess importance of different aspects of daily workload based on big-picture understanding of company and personal goals.
    • Exhibit efficient and effective use of computer software as the vehicle for application engineering and customer support activities.
    • Proficiency with software appropriate to job functions such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows, Excel, and other programs as may be required.
