    Job Description

    The Opportunity:

We, at Flywire, are seeking a Sales Engineer. Fortunately, there’s no such thing as a typical day as you will always have different teams and prospects at various stages within the sales lifecycle to keep things interesting! This role is pre-sales role supporting our sales team. Because of this, this position is not an “8 to 5” type of role. Time zones, international opportunities, and more will occur outside of the “typical” workday and may include activities on the weekend such as travel, conferences, and more!

With that being said, some activities include:

    • Working with Sales Managers/Relationship Managers in meetings which can be functional or technical in nature and explaining or suggesting solutions to questions they have. This will often require research! To do this, you may need to dig around in the les/documentation and ask questions of other teams including implementation or product management
    • Organize meetings with the Flywire sales team as well as technical or nance teams at the prospect - explain the benets or nuances of the Flywire platform, understand their processes, answer functional/technical questions, and gather feedback
    • Present or demonstrate the product remotely or in person
    • Answer prospects’ questions during the process and control the timeframe of the presentation
    • Review and take part in responding to RFP’s, RFI’s, tender questions, and contract negotiations
    • Engage with the product team and test out new features - and possibly create short videos of these features for internal and external use.
    • Be involved with the Sales team during planning and discovery to help understand the situation of the prospect. Note taking/documentation skills are required.
    • Configure demo portals to match the prospect’s brand.
    • Prepare the “demo” so that it answers the needs unique to that prospect
    • Be an effective presenter. This role will be the primary source of the demonstration of the solutions to the prospect. To the prospect, you will be the “expert”. This requires a “take charge” attitude of doing a great presentation and engaging with the prospect. The prospect needs to see this role as a “trusted advisor”. You can’t know everything, but how you handle things that you don’t know is exceptionally important to this role
    • Understand all Flywire products within the Education space and how, and in which circumstances, to use them
    • Assist Marketing with new product roll outs, conference duty, and more
    • Participate in the hand-off to Client Success and Implementation for new customers
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Here’s What We’re Looking For:

    • Knowledge of the Higher Education space in general and have worked with EDU systems such as PeopleSoft, Banner, Colleague or Workday
    • Fluent in English and naturally chatty. Fluency in other languages is a plus
    • A Bachelor’s degree - in Education or a graduate degree is a plus!
    • Direct sales and/or sales engineering experience is highly desirable
    • Experience with student systems, preferably PeopleSoft, is a plus
    • Experience with SlingShot or other sales strategies is a plus
    • Demonstration skills and a passion to be in front of people and show them what a product does. Demo2Win skills/training are a plus!
    • Great problem-solving skills – logic AND creativity is required – think outside the box!
    • Able to context switch quickly - going in-and-out of meetings with only moments in-between won’t phase you. Multiple interruptions won’t make you stumble!
    • Organized - and ideally with an ability to organize others
    • Curious and proactive - investigating third-party platforms that come up in conversations and seeing what’s possible with them. Is there an API? Can we leverage their email or invoice templates? How can we push payment information back in?
    • Professional, yet relaxed - you can read an audience and pitch yourself accordingly
    • Able to give and take feedback and adjust if the feedback warrants
    • Able to travel both domestic and international
