Job Description
Sr. Accountant/Project Manager
The Senior Accountant will have primary day-to-day responsibility for supporting the production of financial statements, financial statements maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls. He/she will report directly to the Accounting Team Lead and the Assistant Controller/Director.
Responsibilities
Provide guidance and limited supervision to accounting staff
Responsible for supporting the month end closing process, and ensure compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements;
Key team member for supporting the creation of a process for financial reporting that is both timely and efficient, including the creation of reports and definition of key metrics and interpretation.
Preparation and review of journal entries in NetSuite.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Support for Accounting Team Lead in the analysis of financial data and accurately and the presentation of financial reports;
Actively involved in supporting all audit activities
Responsible for supporting the preparation of the annual financial Statements including disclosures
Preparation of the monthly account reconciliations
Identify and implement improvements to existing processes and display the willingness to take on special projects both individually and as part of a team.
Where possible, leverage the use of technology, robotics and automation to improve the accuracy and efficiency of accounting processes.
Create relevant dashboards as needs arise which will aid in monitoring and review of relevant financial data.
Identify risks, assess mitigating controls, and make recommendations on improving the control environment
Key areas of focus include, but not limited to; fixed assets, payroll, accruals, ad-hoc adjustments, revenue adjustments, reconciliations, SEFA preparation, grants documentation, grants reporting support, support preparation for 403(b) audit, annual GAAP audit, 990 IRS filings.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate for this position has a strong financial acumen. He/she must be collaborative, hands-on, results-oriented, innovative, and operate with the utmost integrity at all times.
Candidates from both the non-profit and private sectors will be considered.
Possesses a track record of success in complex, fast-paced, creative, and rapidly changing environments;
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process;
Brings transformation experience and is a change agent
Is a clear communicator with influential and effective interpersonal skills and refined emotional intelligence to enable building strong relationships;
Possesses an understanding of the nuances that exist within non-profit accounting, specifically around restricted grants is preferred, but not mandatory;
Personal Characteristics
Comfortable with ambiguity, thinks outside the box, and provides a continuous flow of new ideas and process improvements;
Excellent communication skills; proven ability to craft and deliver messages to multiple constituencies and effectively communicate across the Network’s management team and employees;

Compensation Range
Annual Salary: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00
