Job Description
The Senior Specialist of Scholar Life is responsible for enhancing, scaling and managing the overall program of scholar activities and events at our High Schools. They will manage school-based teams that execute that program with our scholars. This person will be responsible for centralizing, standardizing and scaling our approach to key events, clubs and committees. They will ensure that teams execute these in their respective schools in order to scale an excellent Scholar Life program to multiple high schools. In this role, you must be committed to enhancing student success through their activities, such as, their student-led clubs, committees and student council, and promoting a sense of community and belonging among students. This person will ensure that these activities are executed efficiently and align with our school's mission and goals. This person will The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and have an eye for optimization. They will not settle with the status quo, but instead will think of how areas within Scholar Life can be improved through streamlining and standardization. They must have the ability to plan, execute and manage events with multiple stakeholders. They also must have strong organization, management, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development and Management:
Design and document standardized processes that enhance efficiency and consistency of scholar programs and events across all high school locations.
Ensure all event procedures are clearly defined, including roles, responsibilities, timelines, and resource requirements.
Regularly review and update standard work protocols to reflect best practices and feedback from stakeholders.
Collaborate with school-based staff, faculty, and scholars to ensure events meet educational and developmental goals.
Team Training and Development:
Train and mentor the Scholar Life Team on current policies, procedures, and best practices.
Develop ongoing training programs to keep the team updated on developing standard processes.
Hold the team accountable to key performance indicators associated with Scholar Life.
Scholar Activity Curation & Event Planning and Execution:
Oversee the coordination and logistics of major events, including student council meetings, prom, and scholar-led clubs.
Ensure scholars are participating in a strong curation of activities to have a strong list to apply to college with.
Coordinate all aspects of event planning, including budgeting, scheduling, vendor negotiations, and risk management
Develop detailed event timelines, checklists, and post-event evaluations.
Ensure compliance with all school policies and procedures during events.
Ensure frequent analysis of attendance occurs frequently to make sure there is always strong utilization of resources.
Communication and Collaboration:
Maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, faculty, and external partners.
Promote scholar life through various channels, including newsletters, social media, and school announcements.
Serve as a liaison between student organizations and school administration.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate records of student participation, event outcomes, and program evaluations.
Prepare reports and presentations for school leadership and stakeholders.
Manage program budgets and ensure proper allocation of resources.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in project coordination, implementation and working with cross-functional teams.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Proficiency in Google Suite.
