Video Producer/Visual Storyteller - Strategic Communication and Engagement

The Video Producer/Visual Storyteller is responsible for the creation of short-form films/videos that support the university’s marketing and communication goals, and distributing them on the university’s website, various online outlets, and beyond. The Video Producer/Visual Storyteller possesses a thorough understanding of short-form cinematography, video sound, video editing, video post-production, and online video encoding. This position oversees and actively engages in storyboarding, scripting, coordinating video shoots, editing video, post-production, and delivery (online, digital files,) of video content. In this role, the Video Producer/Visual Storyteller works closely with the Associate Vice President of Strategic Communication and Engagement and other divisional team members (including the Vice President for Strategic Communication and Engagement) and internal university partners to determine the needs for each video project and to gather requirements and advise clients in order to create videos that are aligned and consistent with Azusa Pacific’s mission and brand. The Video Producer/Visual Storyteller supports the integrated recruitment and promotional plans of various university partners by supplementing the plans with appropriate video content/projects. The Video Producer/Visual Storyteller will participate in managing internal client relationships, as well as working closely with the web team in order to integrate video content onto the university’s website and the public relations manager to share content for social media. The Video Producer/Visual Storyteller leads a team of student interns in the development of video content, training them in the craft and art of short-form video production.
