The People Operations Business Partner manages and provides a positive and inclusive employment experience for candidates, staff, faculty, adjuncts, and students. This position will manage and develop effective processes for staffing, recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, orientation, events, and wellness. This position is responsible for managing the staff, faculty, adjuncts, and student employment processes and enhancing the overall employment experience through onboarding, training, and development. The Business partner is responsible for managing all functions and processes related to the HR systems and services.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Employment duties include, but are not limited to:
- Staffing, Recruitment, Onboarding & Employment:
- Manage the staffing request process, recruitment strategies, application tracking system as well as advertising, job postings, interviewing/screening support for department managers, processing background checks, and reference checks
- Review and complete the ATS, Onboarding, and Banner process for new hires, promotions, title changes, classification changes, and terminations
- Incorporate inclusive hiring practices
- Provide training for hiring managers and committees on the staffing process and all employees on employment and HR policies
- Responsible for new hire (onboarding), termination (offboarding) employment processes, and classification and employment changes
- Prepare for new employee’s first day of work
- Coordinate and host New Employee Welcome (NEW) for the College of Law
- Assist in conducting stay interviews and exit interviews
- Faculty, Adjunct, and Staff Employment Processing :
- Ensure timely processing of all new hires, terminations, and employment changes
- Responsible for processing all changes in Banner that relate to employment
- Coordinate with the Dean’s Office and Business Office to ensure accurate processing of faculty contracts, stipends, and adjunct contracts
- Student Employment :
- Coordinate and manage Student Employment functions for all departments on campus by overseeing and managing designated student employment representatives (Faculty, Library, and Staff Departments) and ensure compliance, timeliness, and completion of student employment paperwork and processing
- Ensure Federal Work Study (FWS) funds availability and eligibility for students
- Collaborate with Business Office and Financial Aid regarding Federal Work Study and funding
- Monitor NRA’s (non-resident aliens) and consult DeLand Finance Office and Payroll to ensure tax compliance
- Process employment in Banner
- Complete Student Bar Verifications process
- Monitor Student Employment training compliance (i.e., Title IX training)
- Follow-up with students on questions or concerns regarding the employment process
- Maintain up-to-date Student Employment procedures
- Enhance the student employment experience
- Employee Engagement, Wellness, and Training :
- Serve on the Employee Celebrations Committee and Graduation Planning Committee; support employee events and functions (including Commencement, Health Fair, Employee Appreciation & Recognition, Thanksgiving & Holiday events, Wellness efforts, etc.)
- Collaborate with the Conferences & Events team regarding various events and commencement, as needed
- Lead Stetson Wellness Squad and coordinate wellness initiatives such as Stetson Steppers, monthly challenges, punch card, and other monthly wellness activities
- Design and maintain wellness incentive program for the employee community
- Responsible for the planning, preparation, and drafting of the employee newsletter on a biweekly basis
- Coordinate between HR & Dean’s Office to order flowers and/or send appropriate cards to employees, per our Condolences & Congrats policy
- Update HR bulletin boards to compliance standards and monthly employee activities, birthdays, announcements, and newsletter
- HR Services
- Demonstrate superior customer service for our students, employees, applicants, vendors, etc.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date document management (scanning & filing)
- Assist with annual audit requests
- Ensure integrity of all files and secure confidential files
- HR project work, and other duties as assigned

Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree
- 2 to 4 years of experience in Human Resources, recruitment, or transferrable field. In lieu of degree, consideration for years of experience in an education environment, or satisfactory combination of education and/or experience is acceptable.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- PHR certification preferred
Work Environment: Routinely work in an office setting during normal hours of operation for university offices. Will require some light travel to DeLand campus.
