    The Strategic Planning Analyst will support university-wide strategic initiatives by providing data-driven insights, conducting research, and assisting in the development of long-term plans. This role is ideal for a recent graduate currently pursuing an MBA, offering opportunities for exposure and participation in higher education strategy, organizational change, effectiveness, and executive decision-making.

    Required Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Data Analytics, Higher Education Administration, or a related field.
    • Master’s in Business Administration, or master's progress (preferred).

    Required Experience

    • One to two years of experience with data analysis, use of data tools, and project management methodologies

    Primary Duties/Essential Functions

    • Strategic Analysis & Research
    • Gather and analyze data to support strategic decision-making.
    • Conduct benchmarking studies on peer institutions and industry trends.
    • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of existing strategic initiatives.
    • Planning & Implementation Support
    • Contribute to the development of strategic plans and reports.
    • Facilitate the administrative process of strategic opportunities submitted by the APU community.
    • Help track key performance indicators (KPIs) and institutional goals.
    • Assist in coordinating cross-departmental strategy projects.
    • AI Integration & Data-Driven Innovation
    • Utilize AI-powered tools (e.g., Gemini, ChatGPT, machine learning models, predictive analytics) to improve strategic data analysis and reporting.
    • Explore and recommend AI applications for enhancing university operations and strategic initiatives.
    • Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Prepare presentations and reports for senior leadership.
    • Synthesize complex data into clear insights for decision-makers.
    • Support meetings, retreats, and workshops related to strategic planning.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Strategy Officer

    • Visual acuity to read words and numbers.

    Technologies

    • Intermediate proficiency in Google Workspace applications, Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Proficiency with Tableau or other data visualization/analysis software is a plus.
    • Intermediate understanding and interest in applying artificial intelligence to optimize business processes, driving greater organizational efficiency and effectiveness.

    Compensation

    • Grade 11: $28.53 to $32.81 is the hourly compensation for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitive benefits package.

    4. Knowledge of supplies, equipment ordering and inventory control.
    5. Excellent customer service skills.
    6. Typing speed 40 wpm.
    7. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
