Sylvan Learning Centers: - Reading/English Teacher - Math Teacher - TestPrep (ACT/SAT) Tutor Requirements: - Education/Teaching Degree required (or students pursuing Education Degree who have done instruction through classroom observation or student teaching). - 2 years teaching or tutoring experience preferred - Strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task Skills and Qualities necessary: - Teach using Sylvan based programs - Direct and motivate students during instruction - Reward students for successful work - Evaluate and document student progress - Communicate student needs to our Educational Team - Develop rapport with students and establish a fun, engaging learning environment - Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan Sylvan Learning Centers are the industry leaders in providing supplemental education to children in pre-K through 12th grade. We provide individualized instruction in Comprehension, Reading, English, Writing, Math and Study Skills. We also offer ACT and SAT Test Prep. We teach 7 days per week and require our teachers to work at least one of Saturday/Sunday, and at least one day during the week. We have extended teaching opportunities in the summer.
