Job Summary
IT Support Technicians are the heart and soul of the Naropa University IT department. They provide first line assistance for all Students, Faculty, Staff and Administration. Working within the community while applying your expertise in troubleshooting and technical support customer service. Support technicians will join our diverse and knowledgeable Information Technology team, helping us to make the Naropa technology experience accessible, user friendly, and secure. Work is overseen by the IT Support Supervisor, and completed primarily on-premises at the Naropa University Campuses in Boulder, Colorado. Flexible scheduling and remote work approved after an initial evaluation period is completed.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Installs, configures and maintains staff, faculty, and student-use computers. As well as other computer-related equipment throughout Naropa campuses and administrative offices.
• Assists in onboarding procedures, creating and provisioning Microsoft Accounts; delivering user hardware and orienting new users on the use of university hardware, including computers, printers/copiers, and smart classroom equipment.
• Assists with the installation, upkeep, and user training for appropriate critical daily-use software. Email, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and Zoom, among others.
• Provides timely and empathetic service in response to support requests including evaluation and resolution of laptop, desktop, printer, desk phone, mobile phone, and tablet errors; implements basic repair and makes recommendations on replacement when necessary.
• Maintains an organized helpdesk workflow, promptly creating, updating, and providing responses to helpdesk tickets. Collaborating with users on scheduling, assistance, and resolution. Analyzing issues and assessing the need for escalation.
• Works on assigned issues, tasks, and projects that cover the equipment and services that Naropa’s IT department supports and maintains.
• Makes procedural, service level, process, and maintenance recommendations that will ensure a high quality and sustainable level of service.
• Assists in offboarding, account deactivation, and hardware recovery.
• Provides periodic on-location coverage of the Naropa Campus Business Services Center, assisting the community with professional or academic printing, copying, and document editing.
• Other duties as periodically assigned.
What Naropa Requires…
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of experience with computer hardware and software installations and troubleshooting.
• Two (2) years of experience in a technical support/specialist role.
• High proficiency/strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems.
• High degree of interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely and effectively with a wide, diverse range of community members.
• Solid written and verbal skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced team and often deadline-driven environment.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required.

**What We’d Like You to Have…
** • Bachelor’s degree in computer/data science or closely related field.
• Prior experience with multimedia technologies.
• Proficiency with Apple Macintosh OS X systems.
• Experience with Virtual Machine environment (VMware).
• Experience with MS 365 and Office suite of applications (Excel, Outlook, and Word in particular).
• Experience with network architecture including connectivity, troubleshooting, and wireless.
• Experience with mobile device operating systems (Google, Android, and Apple iOS) .
• Experience with computer hardware and electronics.

Employees who work fewer than 20 hours per week are eligible to participate in Naropa’s retirement plan only, which includes up to 2.5% employer matching.
All regular full-time and part-time faculty and staff, including student workers, accrue sick leave benefits. Full-time and part-time staff positions accrue vacation and personal time. All leave accrual rates vary based on the position, hours worked, and years of service.
