    Compliance Investigator I A&M System Member : Texas A&M University Department : University Risk And Compliance Job Category : Other or Not Specified Job Type : Staff Location : College Station/Bryan Proposed Minimum Salary : Commensurate Job Requisition Number : R-005970 Security Sensitive? : Yes Job Title Compliance Investigator I Agency Texas A&M University Department University Risk And Compliance Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location College Station, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description Under direct supervision, the Compliance Investigator I conducts and/or coordinates with system members investigations of alleged civil rights discrimination, sexual harassment and/or related retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age, genetic information, veteran status, sexual orientation and gender identity. This may include allegations of sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking. Assists with and/or coordinates with system member officials other types of investigations on an as-needed basis. Assists with training on civil rights-related issues. Required Education and Experience: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience * Two years of experience in investigations, conflict resolution, and/or compliance enforcement Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Ability to evaluate and manage highly sensitive and confidential situations * Ability to work effectively with diverse populations of students, faculty, staff and other constituents * Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations * Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. * Ability to use office suite software computer applications * Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others Preferred Education and Experience: * Advanced Degree in Higher Education Administration, Law, Human Resources, Counseling or Social Work, Student Affairs, or related field * Three years of experience in higher education civil rights, and/or Title IX investigations Preferred Licenses and Certifications: * Mediator Certification, ATIXA Training or similar training Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Possess Microsoft Office Suite computer skills. Job Responsibilities: * Conducts Investigations: Under direct supervision, conducts investigations of alleged civil rights discrimination, sexual harassment, and/or related retaliation in accordance with system regulations and member rules and procedures and writes comprehensive investigation reports * Provides Training: Assists with civil rights related training to University Community * Coordinates Investigations: Coordinates investigations with the Office of General Counsel * Performs other duties as assigned.
