Job Description

Sika is looking for a Twisting Operator to join its team. Will work in the Chattanooga facility for our Fibers business unit. Responsible for performing and maintaining the daily activities associated with the Safe Operation of Twisting lines according to established standard work.

• Responsible for performing job duties in a safe and conscientious manner, following all specific JSA’s (Job Safety Analysis) and procedures, and policies established for the plant and calling attention to any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts by others.
• Must be able to communicate well with all levels of personnel, individually or in a team environment utilizing multiple mediums, and especially must be able to interface and communicate with other operators.
• Maintain a constant visual check of the Twisting lines for operating conditions and adjust as necessary within the scope of the job standards and communicate with appropriate personnel to correct all off standard operation conditions to ensure efficiency and quality standards are continually met.
• Responsible for Start / Shut down of Twisting lines when required.
• Clearly identify yarn packages with proper product ID markings and shift identity mark when doffed.
• Perform TPM responsibilities (minor maintenance, inspect and repair, etc)
• Assists process engineer and maintenance personnel with properly identifying processing issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED is required.
• Working knowledge of SAP preferred. Proficient using a computer and software applications.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds frequently.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, and move about the facility.
