Job Details Description: IM-CANS Trainer School of Social Work
University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is seeking dynamic professionals
to join a partnership between public university social work programs and
the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (IHFS). These
positions will implement the new partnership between public university
social work programs and the Illinois Department of Healthcare and
Family Services (HFS) in the implementation of a training center for the
Illinois Medicaid Comprehensive Assessment of Needs and Strengths
(IM-CANS), which assesses an individuals existing strengths, existing
behavioral health needs and appropriate treatment plan. Major Duties and
Responsibilities: The trainer position(s) will assist in planning for
and delivering both web-based training, including questions and answers,
and on-site trainings statewide for the IM-CANS assessment and treatment
planning tool and any related components of the tool or related topics
that are necessary. Using various training, coaching and transfer of
learning methodologies, the trainers will assist in developing, planning
and delivering trainings, including on-site trainings and web-based
trainings on a comprehensive behavioral health assessment tool and its
relevance to effective treatment planning for children and families.
Some analysis of training effectiveness may be required. This training
will be based in Systems of Care (SoC) principles. Travel will be
necessary several days per week in order to effectuate trainings.
Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a Masters Degree from an
accredited college or university with course work in social work or
other recognized professional degree in human services, public policy,
developmental or clinical psychology with appropriate state license as a
Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)
preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of experience training, teaching
or providing clinical supervision on clinical concepts and practice
principles including but not limited to screening (and crisis
screening), assessment, treatment planning, treatment monitoring,
outcomes management and the use of data in clinical practice;
demonstrated experience and knowledge of person centered care and
systems of care principles; knowledge of public mental health,
behavioral health and child welfare systems; demonstrated experience in
teaching multicultural concepts, cultural humility and culturally
responsive care approaches; and knowledge of lifespan development.
Experience working with CSPI, CANS, ANSA, FAST or TCOM is strongly
preferred. Knowledge Requirements: Qualified applicants must be
self-motivated and able to work semi-independently to train peers in
assessment and care planning. Qualified applicants must possess a
working knowledge of change management strategies, established training,
coaching and transfer of learning methodologies, case study and clinical
case presentation methodologies, established evidence-informed child
behavioral health practices and clinical interventions, the impact of
trauma on the child and family system, child and adolescent development,
issues related to diagnosis and co-morbidity, and other behavioral
health issues. Depending on skills and preference, the positions may be
located in Chicago, Urbana, or Springfield. This is a full-time (100%),
twelve month non-tenure track academic professional position. Salary is
competitive and commensurate with qualifications. The proposed start
