Violets for Building Equity in Education (ViBEE) Fellowship (A program for aspiring educators and change makers)
ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP
As part of our continued effort to redefine excellence in education, we are excited to launch Violets for Building Equity in Education (ViBEE), a program that will help us ensure that our Black students have the opportunity to see themselves reflected in their educators and that every student benefits from the perspective of a diversified faculty. This unique fellowship program will contribute to building a teaching community that more closely reflects the diversity and culture of our broader community. ViBEE fellows will work in partnership with a mentor teacher while engaging in classroom instruction and participating in professional development and training workshops. All ViBEE fellows will be supported by a teaching salary commensurate with a part-time faculty appointment and enroll in coursework to earn a fully-funded Master of Arts in Educational Studies from Loyola Marymount University.
POSITION
This is a 2-year post-baccalaureate fellowship position that allows a recent college graduate, ideally a Marlborough alumna, to train and teach alongside Marlborough Faculty while concurrently earning a Master's degree in educational studies. This individual will work closely with the ViBEE Program Head, a mentor teacher, and administrative leadership to co-teach 2-3 courses and develop the skills necessary to thrive in independent schools, community-minded organizations, and the world beyond. They will also be enrolled in the interdisciplinary Educational Studies Program at the Loyola Marymount School of Education. In addition to the specified roles listed in the position description above, the fellow may also be asked to participate in one or more opportunities for hands-on leadership. This may include providing additional support to the community as an advisor, grade-level team member, event chaperone, etc.
APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY
ViBEE fellows should be a graduate of Marlborough School, identify as Black/African-American and be within 1-3 years of having received their Bachelor’s degree. Up to two (2) qualified applicants will be accepted to the ViBEE fellowship program each academic year

COMPENSATION
Compensation and benefits package will be commensurate with a part-time faculty appointment.
