Visiting Faculty of Pediatric Clinical Nursing, College of Nursing FT9796
The College of Nursing (CoN) at Xavier University is seeking an experienced, and highly motivated candidate for a full-time, visiting pediatric clinical nursing faculty to teach in our high-quality undergraduate programs starting in the Spring of 2025 semester. This position is renewable annually for up to three years, pending continuing need. The CoN undergraduate programs include a BSN and a second-degree accelerated MSN (MIDAS) program. The successful candidate will primarily provide clinical instruction and supervision for pediatric practicum courses as the pediatric course lead to our undergraduate BSN and MIDAS programs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, in-person hospital clinical, skills labs, and simulation labs. In addition, the candidate will establish effective coordinating relationships with pediatric clinical adjunct instructors, the clinical and lab manager, peers, and clinical agencies. The candidate may also provide clinical and lab instructions for the nursing fundamentals courses.
The candidate is expected to be an active member of the CoN faculty and participate in the clinical and lab evaluation of student learning and the evaluation of the clinical tools and policies. The candidate will participate in the faculty organization and appropriate program and college activities and committees.

COMPUTER SKILLS
Must be computer literate and Microsoft Office proficient. Knowledge of MATLAB, LabVIEW, and Schematic Capture (i.e. ORCAD or equivalent) is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to communicate in English.
Required to have very good oral and written communications. Should be capable of making presentations to customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus and modern algebra.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Develops and adapts to new research principles and techniques for application to product development. Determines nature and scope of testing necessary to meet project requirements. Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner.
