    The opportunity

    • Assist in designing and preparing Construction Documents, which include drawing and specifications of electronic security systems (access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, etc.)
    • Partake in field assessments and surveys at project sites
    • Partake in Construction Administration activities including contractor coordination, punchlisting, and commissioning
    • Develop basis of design reports
    • Research and evaluate security technologies and methods for recommendations to clients
    • Work in a multidisciplinary environment with other designers from within Arup to deliver a comprehensive, coordinated design to clients
    • Exposure to client meetings
    • Develop innovative methods for streamlining and automating design processes and client project delivery, including development of apps

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or similar related field
    • Sound knowledge of engineering fundamentals
    • Familiarity with CAD software
    • Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment
    • Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges
    • Curiosity about VR/AR applications for security and building design
    • Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future

    Preferred:

    • Software skills: AutoCAD, Revit, General 3D modeling experience
    • Basic computer programming experience

    Chicago Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Chicago, IL is $21 to $32 per hour. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Chicago, IL will differ.
