    JOB SUMMARY

    The purpose of this job is to provide legal support to the Coin Operated Amusement Machines (COAM) business unit, and to other areas of the Georgia Lottery Corporation, to ensure that legal corporate responsibilities are met.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Duties include, but are not limited to:

    Assists in coordinating legal services to the Board of Directors, COAM Advisory Board, executives, managers and employees to ensure that legal questions are resolved in an efficient and accurate manner.

    Prepares effective case strategies which will consistently yield a high ratio of successful cases on behalf of GLC.

    Initiate all appropriate affidavits, court documents and testimony in support of case strategies for and against the GLC in the time and manner prescribed by applicable laws.

    Prepares effective and appropriate appeal strategies which will consistently yield a high ratio of successful appeals on behalf of the GLC.

    Conducts analysis and maintains statistical data as to recurrent legal problems and issues within or affecting GLC operations. Provides updates on COAM legal issues to GLC management.

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

    Juris Doctor of Law from an accredited law school with admission to the Georgia Bar required, with two or more years of legal experience.

    Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
