Overview:
The Fitness Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Personal Training department, ensuring a high-quality and results-driven fitness experience for all personal training clients. In collaboration with the General Manager, the Fitness Manager will work to exceed monthly revenue goals by fostering a productive environment where Personal Trainers can thrive and reach their full potential. This role demands effective leadership through continuous feedback, coaching, mentoring, and development of the Personal Training team.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspiration and Motivation:
Inspire and encourage the Personal Training team to deliver exceptional service and results.
Assist clients in achieving their health and fitness goals, focusing on improving endurance, strength, flexibility, and overall body composition.
Provide positive reinforcement and guidance to both trainers and clients to ensure optimal results.
Revenue Generation:
Drive Personal Training revenue by meeting and exceeding established monthly goals.
Manage client engagement activities, including follow-up calls, scheduling appointments, client retention, community outreach, and promotional marketing.
Coach and support Personal Trainers in building their client base to achieve monthly sales targets.
Customer Service Excellence:
Ensure client satisfaction by delivering superior, customized personal training programs tailored to individual goals.
Exceed client expectations by providing comprehensive health and fitness solutions in an engaging, educational, and supportive manner.
Team Leadership and Development:
Recruit, interview, and train new Personal Trainers to maintain a high-performing team.
Continuously monitor and facilitate departmental payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities for Personal Trainers to enhance their skills and performance.
Qualifications:
Passion and Expertise:
Deep passion and knowledge of health and fitness.
Proven track record as a successful Personal Trainer.
Education and Certification:
Current CPR certification required.
Bachelor’s degree in a fitness-related field preferred; High School Diploma or GED is required.
National Certification from recognized organizations such as ACE, NASM, ACSM, or others listed.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of prior experience in personal training or coaching preferred.
Experience in recruiting, interviewing, and training new hires.
Skills:
Proficiency in computer programs, including spreadsheets, word processing, internet usage, and email.
Strong interpersonal skills, with an enthusiastic, optimistic, and outgoing personality.
