    OVERVIEW: 

    The Party Coordinator is responsible for the development, planning, organization, supervision and coordination of parties and events.  This position reports to the Childcare Supervisor.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Facilitates and expands party programming in support of the District's mission, vision and strategic initiatives. Researches and facilitates improvements to the party program.
    2. Develops, plans and administers birthday parties. Maintains current information pertaining to party opportunities on the website. Assists the Childcare Supervisor in the preparation of information for the promotion of party programs, including but not limited to the District's Program Guide, website, flyers, event booths, etc.
    3. Hires, trains, schedules and communicates expectations of party to staff. Observes and evaluates staff on an on-going basis.
    4. Responsible for review and approval of the Party staff payroll.
    5. Works with the Childcare Supervisor to create party budgets.
    6. Maintains current supply inventory.
    7. Responsible for purchasing supplies for the party program on an as needed basis and within budget.
    8. Submits appropriate expense reports in a timely manner.
    9. Maintains on-going open communication with supervisor.
    10. Works cooperatively with District staff to assist in obtaining the goals and objectives of the program.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Must have a high school diploma.  B.S., B.A. or A.A. degree in Recreation, event planning or related field preferred. 
    • Experience planning events or parties preferred.

    SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:

    • Requires flexibility of work schedule during high volume work periods. Some weekend availability is required. 
    • Possession of, or ability to obtain, CPR, AED and First Aid certification within three (3) months of date of hire.
    • Occasionally lift, carry and/or move object(s) weighing < than 15 lbs. Lifting assistance is required when lifting > than 15 lbs.
