    Job functions:

    • Collaborates with the NAM Senior Director Technical Services and key stakeholders to develop, implement, and maintain GBS-housed operations for Lab Affiliates.
    • Manages GBS Lab Support Supervisors, ensuring performance aligns with Lab Affiliates’ expectations, and oversees staff recruitment for operations in GBS Asia and Bogota facilities.
    • Ensures effective communication between Lab Affiliates, Supervisors, and GBS teams, addressing issues and resolving conflicts promptly.
    • Regularly reviews work distribution and quality through spot audits, ensuring adherence to work instructions, SOPs, and quality documents.
    • Oversees Corrective Action and Preventative Action (CAPA) investigations, ensuring timely implementation of findings in coordination with Lab Affiliates.
    • Leads staff training and performance evaluations, collaborating with Supervisors and Lab Affiliates to maintain high-quality output and improve team performance.
    • Monitors and reports performance KPIs as per Service Level Agreements, driving continuous improvements and addressing performance deviations with the Senior Director and GPOs.
    • Identifies and implements operational improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, compliance, and communication.
    • Maintains general knowledge of lab procedures supported by Lab Affiliate teams and ensures appropriate working conditions (e.g., office space, equipment).
    • Manages staff attendance, time-off requests, and annual performance reviews within the local mySGS system.
    • Facilitates visits from Global and Lab Affiliates, providing necessary support and coordination.
    • Reviews and corrects monthly expense reports for Lab Affiliates using GBS Asia services.
    • Ensures all GBS operations comply with directives from the Head of GBS Asia and NAM Operations.
    • Adheres to SGS Code of Integrity, QHSE, and HR policies and procedures.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a science-related field (Biology, Environmental Science, Biochemistry, etc.)
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a high-volume production laboratory, with previous supervisory experience managing teams of 20+ people, focusing on data processing and review.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with LIMS and Data Processing Software (e.g., ChemStation) used by EHS Affiliate teams in GBS Asia.
    • Experience with ISO and other national certifications, with knowledge of lab analyses and processes.
    • Strong process improvement skills with the ability to challenge and enhance workflows.
    • Fluent in English with excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize effectively while managing multiple tasks.
    • Works well under pressure and independently, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
    • Demonstrates sound judgment and adherence to SGS standards of ethics and integrity.
