  • Responsibilities

    Duties

    • Acts as liaison between auditors, audit agencies, higher headquarters, and the Activity to ensure information is disseminated to the appropriate work areas.
    • Recommends local policies and procedures for ensuring regulatory compliance is met.
    • Participates in the administration of the Internal Control Program to identify, prevent, or eliminate problem areas within the munitions center and recommends courses of action to leadership.
    • Conducts, schedules, and organizes local audits, as directed from internal review auditors, providing direction and guidance to local teams in order to prepare for inspections.
    • Coordinates with local personnel to be available to answer questions or provide additional information during the scheduled review.

    In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.     Basic Requirement for Performance Auditors:

    A. Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting.

    ----OR----

    B. Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following: A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing, e.g., 15 semester hours. In addition to meeting the Basic Requirements above, you must also meet the Specialized Experience requirements listed below.

    Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) participating in the monitoring of operational, financial, and/or program management activities to identify problem areas; 2) gathering financial and/or operational information to assist in the preparation of audits; and 3) evaluating audit findings to assist with developing and recommending corrective actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower pay band (NH-02)/grade level position in the federal service.

    You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
