    Job Description

    • Serves as the senior technical member of an application system development team responsible for design, development, maintenance, and overall system architecture implementation for assigned projects.
    • Assignments will be in support of either Standard Army Management Information Systems (STAMIS) or other major Automated Information System (AIS) projects.
    • Uses interpersonal relations skills to lead the team in developing implementation strategies, plans, and schedules in support of customer requirements as defined in the work plan.
    • Lead member of the team, creates and maintains the team focus.
    • Conducts analysis of functional requirements, change proposals, and current software/system/database/local area network solutions and determines feasibility of new applications or modification of existing applications.
    • Applies current and emerging software development technologies to perform system level development and modification tasks.
    • Analyzes large business problem areas, decomposes into its component parts, analyze the various aspects of the problem, and then assemble an improved system to solve the problem.
    • Analysis includes the footprint and electrical power requirements, temperature control, inventory, hardware/power/network configurations.
    • Analysis includes the Preventive Maintenance of the site configuration, hardware, and communications agreements, and communication networks such as LAN, WAN, Dial up/Modem.
    • Performs hardware platform analysis for processing and communications.

Specialized Experience:1) Participating in the design, development or testing and implementation of new or modified software; 2) Providing advice, guidance or training on software applications; 3) Analyzing functional requirements, change proposals, or current software/system/database/local area network solutions for needed software modifications and new software application models; 4) Utilizing the appropriate development methodology (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Block) and case tools (such as C#, Java, etc.) as determined by project guidelines to modify existing programs or develop new programs; and 5) Developing or modifying system documentation such as Functional Descriptions, user manuals, training and instructional materials or application standard operating procedures.
