    Job Description

    • Serves as Lead Staff Action Control Officer (SACO) for the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM), under the Office of the Secretary to the General Staff (SGS), supporting the 2-Star Commander.
    • Provides a full range of management services including staff counsel, administrative expertise, program management and analytical functions essential to the management and operation of the CECOM Command group and staff.
    • Primarily concerned with the analysis of requirements, guidance, tracking, administration, quality control and assessment of response for all staff and coordination actions required to fulfill CECOM's mission and tasks.
    • Assists the SGS in carrying out duties as directed and serves as acting SGS during SGS absences.
    • In coordination with the SGS, oversees the cost, schedule and performance of all command-level projects managed by the Office of the SGS.
    • Produces final format products that are clear, concise, complete and accurate to include but not limited to e-mail correspondence; fact sheets; memorandums; After Action Reviews; executive summaries; military briefs; oral presentations, and policies.
    • Performs input, retrieval and analysis of the data to process and validate data for timely and accurate reporting of all actions.
    • Responds to numerous inquiries from staff elements on a variety of subjects such as status of suspense and requests for extensions.
    • Oversees the day-to-day administrative and managerial operations of the office of the SGS.
    • Assigns and reviews work; assures production and accuracy requirements are met.
    • Responsible for providing training and instruction for new personnel concerning internal staff action standard operating procedures and terminology, as well as preparation, content and assembly of staff actions.

Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Providing guidance and dissemination of agency actions, policy, and resources; 2) Gathering, maintaining, and analyzing program and project data to monitor performance, status, schedule and cost; 3) Preparing, editing and proofing comprehensive reports, information papers policies, regulations and other official documentation to ensure correctness of grammar and format; and 4) Preparing and presenting briefings. Education cannot be substituted for experience. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Clerical Communications Managing Human Resources Planning and Evaluating Applicants must meet basic eligibility requirements such as minimum qualifications, and other regulatory requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent NH-02.
