Internship Program Overview

To be eligible for the summer 2025 internship program, you must be a junior standing candidate pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree with a graduate date of May 2026. Most positions are based in St. Petersburg with other available locations depending on company need.

Candidates who successfully complete the internship program have the opportunity to transition into a full-time role at Raymond James after graduation.

Department Overview

Raymond James Oversight & Control (O&C) represents the first line of risk management for Raymond James Bank. O&C supports various departments to ensure adherence to all rules, regulations, policies, and standards that govern the firm and the securities industry.

Job Summary

Under limited supervision, uses knowledge and skills obtained through experience, specialized training and/or certification in the financial services industry to ensure that business operations are conducted in a manner that sufficiently mitigates material risks to RJ Bank. The position is part of the RJ Bank Oversight & Control (O&C) Department which functions as the first line of defense for RJ Bank.

Primary responsibilities include performing first line testing and monitoring of various first line business unit key controls, supporting management during internal audits and regulatory exams, and partnering with key internal stakeholders to ensure deficiencies in the control framework are appropriately addressed. The position also requires strong analytical, communication, and critical thinking skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments to identify creative solutions to complex problems.

Internship Length: 10 weeks

Start Date: June 2, 2025

End Date: August 8, 2025

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, up to 40 hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conducts first line testing/monitoring to assess the effectiveness of controls to mitigate risks across various risk stripes including regulatory compliance, legal, operational, credit, and reputational risks.
• Assists in researching self-identified issues.
• Makes rule-based and analytical decisions.
• Operates standard office equipment and uses required software applications.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge of –

• Fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a professional office environment.
• Basic concepts, principles, and practices of an assigned business unit.

Skill in –

• Preparing and delivering written and oral presentations.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements

• Junior standing pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field.
• Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
