    Internship Program Overview

    To be eligible for the summer 2025 internship program, you must be a junior standing candidate pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree with a graduate date of May 2026. Most positions are based in St. Petersburg with other available locations depending on company need.

    Candidates who successfully complete the internship program have the opportunity to transition into a full-time role at Raymond James after graduation.

    Department Overview

    The Tailored Lending team leads the firm's efforts in creating customized lending solutions for high-net worth (HNW) and ultra-high net worth (UHNW) clients to meet liquidity needs without disrupting long-term financial plans.

    Job Summary

    Under the supervision of senior members of the Tailored Lending team, the Tailored Lending Intern will have knowledge and skills obtained through formal education and/or work-related experience to assist in the end-to-end servicing of Tailored Lending applications. This will involve a wide array of responsibilities, primarily under the supervision of Tailored Lending Officers, including financial analysis/modeling, underwriting, client due diligence, portfolio management, and KYC/CIP responsibilities. The role of a Tailored Lending intern is primarily geared towards maintaining a high service level with clients, while tending to the administration of the portfolio and assisting in new deal origination. This position will require working with internal partners to originate new loans and perform portfolio maintenance duties including modifications and annual reviews.

    Internship Length: 10 weeks

    Start Date: June 2, 2025

    End Date: August 8, 2025

    Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, up to 40 hours per week.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assists in the underwriting process for Tailored Lending transactions, primarily by analyzing personal financial statements and tax returns, determining loan profitability, modeling estimated loan loss reserves, and drafting credit memos.

    • Assists in the underwriting of affiliate transactions including margin loans and other fixed income transactions.

    • Reviews and produces a thorough analysis of proposed collateral for acceptance in connection with Tailored Lending transactions.

    • Runs negative news screenings on clients/prospects, reviews results, and assists in determining significance.

    • Performs annual reviews on transactions with supervision from Senior Loan Officers

    • Operates standard office equipment and uses required software applications.

    • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Educational/Previous Experience Requirements

    • Junior standing pursuing a bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field.

    • Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
