SUMMARY: Responsible for the maintenance of existing commercial loan portfolio.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: North Shore Bank's Position Descriptions are intended to describe only the major functions of the job. Everyone is expected to contribute whatever efforts necessary to operate efficiently and effectively to insure the success of the Bank.
Manages an existing portfolio of commercial loans, and generates new loan activity from the existing portfolio and external sources, with a production goal to be set by the department manager.
Refers new commercial loan opportunities to senior loan officers when necessary; develops and maintains a relationship with existing customers and centers of influence (COIs); and, provides information on lending products and policies.
In conjunction with the portfolio managers in the credit department, the candidate is responsible for tracking and gathering information needed for loan renewals, modifications and/or watch loan updates.
Works closely with senior loan officers and customers throughout the process, from initial contact through closing. Explains loan terms and conditions and analyzes loan details to determine eligibility within the Bank’s policies and procedures. Assesses and explores opportunities for new business.
Participates in meetings with customers, conducts site visits, and attends industry networking and entertainment events.
Assists in the preparation of loan write-ups and presents recommendations to the appropriate loan committee for approval; structures commitments per committees' direction, manages the transaction through the appraisal, closing and booking process. Conducts follow-up with customers as needed.
Tracks exception reports for all loan officers and contact customers to obtain required documentation.
Applies a thorough understanding of the Bank’s products, policies, and procedures to all commercial loans.
Other duties as defined and identified by the Department Manager.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a business related field such as business or finance. Requires at least two years of commercial lending experience with direct client interaction preferred. Additional coursework and/or work experience in appraising and/or construction lending preferred.

PREVIOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE
At least 18yrs old, with a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
English proficient, other languages may be required
Terminal and Airport operations knowledge and experience preferred
