    DESCRIPTION

    Our Financial Institutions Group (FIG) Debt Capital Markets (DCM) analysts are key members of our team that supports FIG clients across North America. Primary responsibilities include capital markets & capital structure analysis, preparation of presentation materials and transaction execution. Specific to FIG, the analyst will gain an understanding of the rating agency and regulatory capital factors which drive decision making. Our analysts also support senior originators' client coverage and that includes HSBC's origination effort in Environmental, Social & Goverance (ESG) labeled issuance format.

    ABOUT US

    FIG DCM originates, structures and executes fixed income related transactions on behalf of investment grade issuers. The group works closely with Global Banking sector coverage, leveraged finance & solutions teams to recommend and execute transactions for HSBC's client

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Employment eligibility to work with HSBC in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    Here's what you might expect on a typical day:

    • DCM BANKING SKILLS: Use Excel to prepare capital structure analysis for clients while balancing cost of capital considerations with rating agency & regulatory constraints. Monitor global capital markets activity to inform new issue pricing and execution recommendations.
    • COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS: Prepare PowerPoint pitches with comparative credit statistics, ratio analysis as well as market and economic updates. Prepare updates to be sent to issuers. Coordinate roadshow meetings with investors.
    • DEAL MANAGEMENT SKILLS: Manage the day to day execution process, collaborating closely both internally with other teams within HSBC as well as with clients and other advisors externally.
    • CLIENT/COLLEAGUE SKILLS: Coordinate closely with investors and clients during marketing and roadshow meetings. Collaborate with colleagues in the Global Banking sector coverage, Solutions, Syndicate and Acquisition Finance teams and communicating with offshore financing centers on trends, transactions and local currency markets to deliver a global view to HSBC's client base.
