About Investment Bank: Commercial Real Estate
Commercial Real Estate (CRE) sits within our Fixed Income & Currencies division. It provides the financing behind the real estate portfolios of public corporations, private equity groups and institutional investors. The debt originated by the team is distributed via commercial mortgage backed securities, loan syndications, or held on balance sheet. The properties in question are diverse, ranging from hotels and office buildings to industrial premises and retail outlets, throughout North America. Consistently ranked at the top of global league tables, our CRE team is a leader in its field thanks to its global footprint, breadth of products, depth of capabilities and success in delivering the most complex transactions.
The Role
Join us and you will be an integral part of our team. Over 10 intensive weeks you will experience what it’s like to work for our international bank. You will go through two job rotations and gain a wide range of practical experience. During your internship, you will also benefit from training courses, seminars and a variety of networking events. Successful interns will be invited to join the Deutsche Bank Graduate Program.
Our interns are given the opportunity to learn about our business from different viewpoints, giving you a career advantage.
Starting with up to a week of classroom-based training, you’ll then complete two rotations within CRE. These will depend on your interests, your location and the needs of our business but you can be sure you'll gain a real understanding of the work we do.
Your day-to-day tasks will vary depending on your role. But you might be evaluating a client’s credit risk profile, performing property market research, modelling property cashflows, or preparing loan materials and reports. Your learning curve will be steep as you get involved in current deals and interact with various teams involved in the loan origination process. But you’ll enjoy plenty of support from managers and mentors, along with unparalleled global exposure.
We recruit highly intelligent graduates who are ambitious and adaptable. They have degrees in many different disciplines. Even though good levels of numeracy are important for some roles, you won’t necessarily need a formal mathematical or financial background. We have very comprehensive training programmes that will give you all the technical knowledge you’ll need to build a career with us. Above all, we’re looking for entrepreneurial people who thrive best in a diverse culture where innovation and agile thinking abound.
You should not only be passionate about the world of finance, but also show a keen interest in your chosen field. You already have a record of outstanding academic achievement and you’re eager to go on learning at the same intensive rate. So you’ll thrive on working in a highly collaborative environment with some of the best minds in banking.
