    The AVP Compliance Officer - Fixed Income Surveillance supports the fixed income surveillance business in New York. Business coverage will responsible for reviewing alerts and trading activity related to their asset class and encompasses trade surveillance, e-comms surveillance and voice surveillance. The SMEs/analysts also develop and analyze new surveillance processes.

    Here’s what you can expect:

    As our AVP Compliance Officer – Fixed Income Surveillance you will provide Fixed Income subject matter expertise to support and drive the implementation and enhancement of the Markets and Securities Surveillance solutions, challenge existing surveillance tools and models and contribute to the creation and development of new models and detection tools, and engage and colloboarate with the Global Surveillance team, and work across various technology platforms (surveillance, analytics, trading platforms. You will be responsible for providing SME input to this process, challenging the design, testing the metrics and ensuring the end product meets the requirements of the Surveillance team. The key area of focus will be the implementation of the conduct surveillance and analytics strategy across Business Line(s) in order to identify misconduct of our staff and our counterparties.

    For this role, HSBC targets a fixed pay range between $101,700 and $152,500.

    The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

    Requirements

    Employment eligibility to work with HSBC in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.

    • A strong understanding of the rules relevant to trading and sales activities for Fixed Income products.

    • Expert knowledge of financial markets and traded Fixed Income products.

    • Demonstrable experience (3 or more years) working in a Surveillance role. Consideration will also be given to those with Compliance Advisory, Operations or Front-Office experience.

    • Ability to support decisions with sound reasoning. Ability to clearly articulate business and regulatory implications of analysis and findings.

    • Strong analytical skills.

    • Evidence of collaboration with key stakeholder functions as well as providing credible challenge to the business/desk supervisors in their daily risk management.

    • Well-developed communications, analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
