    The Americas Corporate Risk Solutions team (CRS) is responsible for the origination and execution of strategic risk management solutions, primarily Capital Markets and Acquisition related, for the Corporate and Private Capital client base. Corporate Risk Solutions (CRS), part of HSBC Global Banking and Markets, services priority clients at the senior Treasurer and C-Suite level, addressing risk management needs across asset classes such as but not limited to interest rates, foreign exchange.

    An understanding of Corporate client needs in managing interest rate and foreign exchange risks associated with Capital Markers or Acquisition related transactions is essential. The role holder should have a basic understanding of foreign exchange, interest rate derivatives, and hybrid product structures.

    The primary objective of the role is to originate new business linked to Capital Markets, Investment Banking, Infrastructure, and Private Capital transactions. The role holder will assist the CRS team in driving revenue and profitability from client portfolios while delivering excellent service to address client needs. To achieve this the role holder will be expected to collaborate with immediate team members and other internal stakeholders in various teams across Global Banking and Markets and Commercial Banking.

    THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE ROLE, INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Preparation of deal-related and non-deal related client marketing materials and pitch books.
    • Perform financial analysis, such as:
      • Modelling, stress testing, and scenario analysis of various market risk factors impacting client's corporate finance and credit metrics
      • Financial modelling and analysis of company capital structure (equity and debt) to measure hedge capacity and impact for clients
      • Assessing client credit metrics, rating agency considerations, and hedge accounting standards related to risk management transactions
    • Execution, pricing, booking, and record keeping of client transactions and contracts
    • Providing ongoing market commentary, pricing, coverage, and administrative support for clients
    • Identification of client risk exposures to markets such as interest rates, foreign exchange
    • Obtaining underwriting approvals for origination and execution of transactions and associated legal documentation
    • Coordination with internal business partners and teams on enhancement of systems, products, processes, and policies
    • Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets
    • Contribute to team development, effectiveness and success by sharing knowledge and good practice, working collaboratively with others to create a productive, diverse and supportive working environment
    • Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of a global management information, analysis and reporting framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels
    • Drive the definition and embedding of policy and governance frameworks across Global Banking and Markets to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance
  • Qualifications
    • Bachelor degree in Finance, Economics, or other quantitative field. 1-2 years of relevant work experience would be viewed positively

    • Communication and Presentation skills: Strong communication skills. Communicates what is relevant and important in a clear and concise manner, shares information and new ideas with others

    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; VBA proficiency would be viewed positively

    • Language skills (Spanish) would be viewed positively
    • Series 7, 79, and 63 licenses preferred but not required at outset. Appropriate securities licenses must be obtained if not already held.
    • Strong understanding of the Corporate Sales business, its products, clients, systems and key processes
    • Good understanding of Capital Markets, covering foreign exchange instruments (Spot, Options, Swaps, Forwards and Futures) and interest rate derivatives and an ability to understand & manage a diverse and sometimes complex product
    • Create accountability and global standards for the solutions effort
    • Ability to construct and execute a business plan
    • Ability to translate market needs into marketable solutions for clients
