    The Strategic Equity & Financing (SEF) and Equity-Linked Capital Markets (ELCM) teams are private-side front-office origination desks that sit within the Equity Capital Markets (ECM) business in New York. The teams originate, structure and execute capital markets and corporate equity derivatives transactions including: Equity Financing, Equity Hedging and Risk Management, Yield Enhancement, Enhanced Disposals and Stake Building, and Convertible Securities.

    Here’s what you can expect:

    As the Global Banking ECM / SEF Associate your primary responsibility will be to work with and support the SEF and ELCM teams in originating and executing transactions covered by the teams. You will be fully integrated in the ECM team in Global Banking and work alongside cash ECM origination and ECM syndicate. You will work as a product specialist and will be responsible for helping HSBC win new business and execute / lead transactions. You will cover a wide array of industries and clients include corporates, private equities, investment managers, family offices and HNWIs. Your role will be to support ECM management in the implementation of the team’s strategy to maintain a strong, sustainable deal pipeline across the platform, in line with the group purpose, vision and values through building, and maintaining client relationships and engaging with other bankers across the global HSBC network.

    For this role, HSBC targets a fixed pay range between $150,000.00 and $175,000.00.

    The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

    Requirements

    • Candidates with 3-5 years of experience in Investment Banking. Associates currently in Equity Capital Markets and/or Corporate Equity Derivatives / Strategic Equity and/or Equity-Linked origination preferred, but others will be considered
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Bloomberg tools
    • Ability to navigate SEC filings and read and understand financial statements
    • Background in equity financing and derivative pricing a plus
    • A strong understanding and interest in the financial markets. Keep abreast of latest happenings in the product area and keep the relevant stakeholders informed with regular market and transaction updates
    • FINRA Series 7, 63, 79 and SIE licenses. Swap Dealer registration. These can be obtained after joining if not currently held
