Our Associate, Wholesale Portfolio Management, would gain experience across a diverse array of lending products (Corporate / Leverage Finance / Structured Finance / Real Asset Finance) in multiples sectors (Corporate sectors / ICG / Financial Sponsors / FIG / Public Sector). The Associate would interact every week with the Heads of Business, assist in the review of HSBC’s largest transactions, and will manage projects with short timeframes.
Here’s what you can expect:
In this Associate role you would support front-line origination and distribution, through the Capital Allocation Committee (CAC) and Sub-CAC process, to optimize new business proposals using the deal profitability projection tool (Omnia Returns Calculator) and the Client Relationship profitability tool (Omnia). You would engage with GB Senior Management to support GB’s business strategy and agenda. You will play a pivotal role by providing guidance to Relationship Bankers and Product Partners on optimal deal booking considering regional capital constraints and opportunities. You would also coordinate balance sheet availability with WPM teams from other regions (Europe, Asia Pacific and the Middle East) in order to maximize shareholder returns.
Requirements
Employment eligibility to work with HSBC in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
At least 3 years’ experience in a wholesale/corporate banking environment, with banking product knowledge and a good understanding of credit risk
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to connect external trends with business activity
IT literate with an ability to pick-up new systems quickly
Articulate with strong analytical and good verbal and written communication skills
Strong multitasking ability, with an eye for detail and logical content
