    Lab Associate/Phlebotomist - Per Diem - Chelmsford - North Region Atrius Health is the Northeasts largest nonprofit independent multi-specialty medical group. We have a per diem opening for an experienced Lab Associate in our state of the art laboratory in our Chelmsford location. You may be required to float to another laboratory in our north region. The responsibilities of a Lab Associate are tremendous and varied. This candidate must serve as a Service Excellence ambassador of the laboratory and must please numerous customers including the patient, the patients family, nurses, doctors, and laboratory professional Co-workers performing the lab tests. Accuracy, reliability, and even cost effectiveness of Point of Care laboratory tests and Venipuncture are required. The Lab Associate assists in performing venipuncture and skin puncture on patients for analysis or other medical purposes. Obtains blood samples from patients and may deliver samples to the laboratory. . Performs clerical duties involving test results and patient charges. Provides factual information concerning laboratory tests, according to standard procedure. Education: U.S. High School diploma or GED or non-U.S. High School diploma deemed equivalent after evaluation of the diploma by either Center for Educational Documentation (CED) or North American Education Group (NAEG). Skills and Experience: Minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience required, including drawing blood on infants and children. Excellent communication skills and proven customer service excellence necessary as well as ability to move 30 to 40 pounds to stock supplies and move or support patients. We currently have a position for a full time Histotechnician to work evenings in our state of the art laboratory in Needham Under general supervision, performs Histology and Immunohistochemistry procedures and techniques in preparation for examination by the Pathologist. Fully skilled in all histology techniques, which include embedding, cutting, staining, accessioning and coverslipping. Education: Associate's degree (AS), certified Histotechnician (HT) preferred through the American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), or equivalent.
