    Join our fast-paced Data Experience team, within our Design Engineering & Analytics organization. You will work on Data Experience tools like our data visualization component library, Visa Chart Components (VCC). The beautiful, accessible, and robust data visualization components you design and build will be used to explore and visually manipulate Visa’s unique global data assets.

    Your work will empower users to discover and communicate insights with clarity, nuance, and ease. Incredible volumes of data will be at your fingertips to mold and refine into elegant visualizations utilizing traditional proven graphics (e.g., bar charts) as well as inventing novel graphics concepts, yet to be seen.

    Essential functions

    • Develop and maintain data visualization components, patterns, and tooling for our VCC library, collaborating closely with designers on the Data Experience team to identify opportunities for improving the designer and developer experience for VCC’s community of users.
    • Partner with the accessibility team to ensure our chart components and patterns meet WCAG and Visa’s Global Accessibility Requirements (VGAR).
    • Support VCC’s user community of designers, business analysts, and engineers to help them leverage VCC to the fullest within their products.
    • Collaborate with engineering from Global Design and our partner Product teams, providing subject matter expertise on developing complex data intensive interfaces and experiences.
    • Assist with developing and delivering training on Data Visualization and Data Experience engineering.

    This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Basic qualifications:
    •2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)

    Preferred Qualifications:
    •3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
    •Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other technical/design relevant field.
    • Expertise in data visualization principles and techniques.
    • Experience in developing and maintaining design systems or component libraries focused on Data Visualization.
    • Strong knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles for data visualization and data experience design.
    • Familiarity with design tools and understanding of design principles.
    • Detail oriented with a keen eye to spot single pixel deformities, and a passion for creating elegant, efficient solutions.
    • Comfortable working at different levels of fidelity in your designs and switching between them.
    • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
    • Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt techniques and processes to an ever-changing eco-system of design tooling, techniques and technologies.
    • A strong interest in Generative AI and its applications in data experience design.
    • Technology we enjoy using and hope you do too: Figma, React, Angular, Stencil, Jest, Node, D3. And last but not least, Visa Chart Components.

    Bonus points for ...
    • Working knowledge of WebGL
    • Proficiency in statistical tools like R or Python’s data science tools
    • Can demonstrate abilities through shareable (public facing) data visualization experiences.

    Additional Information

    ** Travel Requirements:** This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

    ** Mental/Physical Requirements:** This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

    U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 105,800 to 166,150 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
