    THE ROLE

    As a member of the financial planning and analysis team (“FP&A”), the financial analyst is responsible for analyzing actual and projected financial results across the Firm working with other business unit level FP&A colleagues, providing management reporting on company performance, performing financial analysis and assisting with corporate-level planning.  The financial analyst also plays a key role working with Investor Relations to support the quarterly earnings release process.   This position often faces changing priorities and frequent requests to perform time-sensitive ad hoc financial analysis for executives.  Critical thinking and the ability to work well with a team of FP&A professionals are critical for success in this role. 

     

    Ideal candidates for this role will have an advanced degree with 2-4 years of  related reporting/financial experience and possess an affiliation for use of technology in cloud ERP finance systems.

     

    EXPECTATIONS

    • Assist in communicating findings to management in a concise and understandable fashion
    • Help the business identify and formulate hypotheses (deductive)
    • Ensure bias and data quality issues are resolved or explained when communication occurs
    • Identify and surface data gaps that exist to the data reporting and data management teams and partner on how those gaps can be closed
    • Develop trusted partnerships with business leaders based on collaboration and knowledge of business
    • Work with Business Unit finance managers to consolidate and explain revenue and expense variances at the Corporate level
    • Gather data and prepare slides for Quarterly Business Reviews and Board updates
    • Maintain and distribute weekly P&L projection report to senior leaders in the organization
    • Perform monthly interest analysis that is used by the team to help explain major variances to senior management
    • Assist in cloud ERP and planning implementation efforts by developing expert understanding of new data strategy and creating automated reporting for decision makers across the firm
    • Partner and coordinate with treasury, business unit support and senior finance management to ensure financial models are updated with most current assumptions
    • Continue development of domain expertise by attending partner meetings in order to be able to think strategically about relevant data sets and metrics
    • Ad hoc analysis as needed for CFO, CEO, Senior Leaders, and Board

  • Qualifications
    • 4 year college degree (finance, accounting, technology or math major is preferred)
    • MBA or graduate degree in finance, technology or statistics strongly preferred
    • Reporting background with 2 -4 years of experience in reporting, data gathering , and/or automating report generation preferred
    • Experience implementing or key user of cloud ERP systems such as WorkDay preferred
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with different levels of management
    • Ability to work both independently and with a group depending on circumstances
    • Ability to self-learn new modeling techniques and system applications
    • Ability to work under tight deadlines
    • Military education or experience may be considered in lieu of civilian requirements
