  • Responsibilities

    OppenheimerFunds is looking for a Finance Analyst to support the Finance Business Controller Manager in reporting, planning, and analysis for the Marketing, Investment Management, and Risk departments. The successful candidate will be responsible for tactical deliverables such as updating monthly/ quarterly reports, tracking expense results for individual departments, as well as strategic deliverables including, working to develop budgets and forecasts, investigating data inconsistencies, and assisting in the preparation and analysis of financial reports. Success will be dependent upon a wide range of skills including excellent communication skills, strong task and organizational skills, a positive, proactive get-it-done attitude, and a willingness to learn.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Performing accounting activities such as journal entry accruals, re-classes, and research on general ledger transactions
    • Analysis of departmental expenses including headcount, advertising, external services, travel and entertainment, literature, and contractor expenses
    • Preparation of detailed monthly reports for department owners
    • Assisting in the development of department budgets and forecasts and ongoing monitoring of actual versus budget/ forecast performance
    • Investigating and explaining variances to budget and forecast
    • Performing ad-hoc analysis
    • Supporting the tactical and strategic development initiatives including 15C process, fund profitability, and competitive analysis.
    • Supporting the quarterly expense allocations process
    • Serving as liaison between Finance and other departments

  • Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
    • 2-4 years of Finance experience with specific experience in accruals, reconciliations and month-end close required.
    • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (INDEX, MATCH, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, SUMIF, etc.).
    • Microsoft Office Suite applications experience
    • Excellent attention to detail

    Competencies:

    • Experience and knowledge in SAP, Hyperion Essbase, and Cognos a plus
    • Strong verbal and written skills
    • Proven ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks and projects
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
    • Capable of thinking analytically and creatively
    • Show initiative, confidence, and drive to achieve results without explicit direction or detailed instructions
