total loss claims which includes corresponding with account holders,
insurance companies and various internal departments (Titles,
Bankruptcy, Payment Processing and Collections). Essential Duties and
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. *
Handles inbound calls from customers and insurance companies involving
claims in which the vehicle has been deemed a total loss. * Coordinates
insurance payments for vehicle repair claims with the customer and the
body shop and obtains endorsement when repair work has been completed
and invoice has been received. * Reviews emails and receives phone calls
from collection department regarding total loss claims and contacts
customer to obtain insurance and claim information. * Notifies
Bankruptcy department regarding total loss claims so that their files
are updated. * Properly assigns accounts in SHAW to reflect Total Loss
(Code 60) so that it will be uploaded to the Total Loss report file. *
Reviews Total Loss report daily and view new claims and which accounts
need to be worked. * Works with insurance company to obtain collateral
evaluation reports, settlement breakdowns and police reports which is
need prior to submitting title or letter of guarantee need to settle the
claim. * Reviews loan documents to see if the customer has GAP coverage.
Works with GAP coordinator to insurance claim is filed. * Contacts title
department in Houston to request title information on new loans and
advises them via email where to send titles once total loss claim has
bee paid out. * Documents all steps, correspondence, conversations with
customers/insurance company in the notes on the account. * Sends
deficiency balance letters to customer once total loss payment has been
applied to the account. * Submits all documentation to loan servicing
for scanning once total loss process has been completed. * Processes
incoming total loss checks by notating the account and submitting to
payment processing. * Researches incoming insurance claim checks to
determine the type of claim and the account it should be applied to. *
Reviews, qualifies and completes all forms for substitution of
collateral situations. * Provides month reporting on total loss accounts
- Performs various administrative duties such as faxing, preparing
overnight package labels, updating MS Excel worksheets and copying. *
Complies with all company policies and procedures. * This position
involves regular access to specified personal information of consumers,
including, but not limited to, Social Security numbers and dates of

Experience The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired
through the completion of a high school diploma and or/GED. Two to three
years previous auto claims experience preferred. Language Skills Ability
to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and
memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of
measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning
Ability Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed
but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Computer Skills To perform
this job successfully, an individual should be familiar with a PC have
typing/keyboarding skills of 30+ wpm. Other Skills and Qualifications
Ability to negotiate with insurance companies and claims adjusters.
