    Job Description

    We are seeking a highly organized and dynamic Portfolio Manager - Technical Product Manager to join our team at Authorize.net, reporting directly to the Head of Engineering. This individual will play a crucial role in managing our portfolio, ensuring seamless execution of multiple projects across various teams. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex projects, with the ability to context switch and run multiple initiatives in parallel.

    In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, execution, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects that drive our business objectives. You will work closely with engineering, product management, and other cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with our strategic goals. Your key responsibilities will include metrics and reporting, cross-team coordination, peak season readiness, quality assurance, stakeholder communication, and operational support.

    Metrics and Reporting:

    • Ensure accurate tracking of Jira and Jira Align items so they correctly reflect across the entire portfolio in the executive dashboard.
    • Generate reports to inform decision-making and support strategic planning.
    • Establish and enforce standards for project management tracking and reporting.

    Cross-Team Coordination:

    • Lead cross-functional initiatives focused on security enhancements and technical debt reduction.
    • Foster collaboration among teams and hold them accountable for deliverables.
    • Facilitate regular cross-team meetings to ensure alignment and progress.

    Stakeholder Communication:

    • Provide regular project updates to stakeholders and leadership.
    • Ensure transparency and alignment across the organization.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for portfolio-related inquiries.

    Quality Assurance:

    • Evaluate epics and features from the Product Management perspective.
    • Review user stories from Engineering for clarity and effectiveness.
    • Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and business requirements.

    Peak Season Readiness:

    • Coordinate preparations for transaction spikes during holidays and peak periods.
    • Optimize systems and processes to handle increased demand and ensure service continuity.
    • Develop and implement contingency plans to mitigate potential risks.

    Operational Support:

    • Assist in strategic planning and prioritization of initiatives.
    • Coordinate resource allocation including headcount planning to support teams in achieving objectives.
    • Support the Head of Engineering in portfolio management activities and decision-making processes.

    Process Improvement and Accountability:

    • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance workflow efficiency and project delivery.
    • Maintain accountability for teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of work items, epics, and other deliverables in Jira.
    • Oversee the intake process for new projects, ensuring proper documentation and alignment with strategic goals.

    This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD,MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
    • Extensive experience with Jira and Jira Align for project tracking and reporting.
    • PMP, or similar detailed knowledge of formal project management processes.
    • 7-10 years of progressive experience with increasing responsibility in Information Technology, Information Security, and Compliance that includes a combination of technical and project leadership responsibilities.
    • Good interpersonal, facilitation, and demonstrated emerging leadership skills.
    • Ability to operate at an advanced level of written and spoken communication.
    • Write and speak effectively with impact.
    • Strong working knowledge of high-level programming languages is an added bonus.
    • Proven ability to drive process improvements and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Fast learner on both technical and business sides.
    • Broad knowledge of the state-of-art industry development status in related areas.
    • Strong customer-centric mindset.
    • Comfortable in an ambiguous matrixed organization.
    • Proactive sense of urgency and 'can do' attitude.
    • Strategic thinker who can balance big-picture strategy with detailed, flawless execution.
    • Financial services and card payments experience is a plus.

    Additional Information

    ** Work Hours:** Varies upon the needs of the department.

    ** Travel Requirements:** This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

    ** Mental/Physical Requirements:** This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

    U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 124,700.00 to 180,650.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
