  • Responsibilities

    INVESTMENT & CORPORATE BANKING - COO GROUP, ASSOCIATE

    • Analyzing the performance of the business against competitors through internal databases & external sources (i.e. Dealogic) & providing insight into the direction of the market & the company's position in the key product areas of equity capital markets (ECM), debt capital markets (DCM), & M&A as well as across various sectors.
    • Driving the creation of monthly / quarterly / yearly performance presentations around pipeline activities, client calling efforts, business initiatives, & other business developments within banking to be presented to Banking Americas, regional senior management & the global investment banking division in Tokyo head office.
    • Building out the infrastructure of the Banking Americas platform including creating templates, processes and tools to be used by the investment and corporate bankers and the COO team.
    • Acting as a liaison to the global investment banking division in Tokyo head office to drive dialogue & reporting around cross-border deal activities & the overall build-out of the investment banking coverage teams.
    • Ensuring that the business & the COO Office maintains compliance with Japanese & US regulations & work with compliance team partners to drive ad-hoc compliance related tasks.
    • Working with partners to enhance front office technology infrastructure & driving various internal projects to ensure delivery of the necessary services & products to internal clients. Supporting the management of external vendor relationships, budget approval processes & execution of implementation to users.
    • Supporting management in other strategic & operational projects to support business growth in the region.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in economics, finance, public policy or a related field. 7 years of experience in the financial industry.

    Skills required:

    • Experience in investment banking.
    • Product knowledge of ECM.
    • Product knowledge of DCM.
    • Product knowledge of M&A.
    • Experience working in a multi-national financial institution.
    • Experience in a business management, strategy, or a planning role.
    • Experience in coordinating & liaising with overseas offices for the purposes of managerial reporting, including reporting of deal pipelines, revenue, & costs.
    • Knowledge of global markets & economies.
    • Experience in IT infrastructure, including but not limited to client relationship management (CRM) systems.
