INVESTMENT & CORPORATE BANKING - COO OFFICE, DATA MANAGEMENT AND BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ASSOCIATE
Seeking a Data Management and Business Intelligence Associate to work in the Investment & Corporate Banking COO Office of a growing firm. This position plays a key function in the COO team managing data framework and driving automation efforts working in close partnership with business, reporting team and IT stakeholders.
The Data Management and Business Intelligence Associate will:
Support Mizuho’s commitment to making informed and data-driven decisions by serving as the in-house expert for data mining, data processing, manipulation, analysis and presentation
Help to drive and implement a strategic data framework and solution working with IT to define, identify, test and implement automated solutions
Produce reports to fulfill management requests and support Mizuho’s ongoing reporting needs
Enable Mizuho’s strategic vision for reporting, including collection and analysis of business requirements
Research, recommend and execute tactical approaches for improving management’s access to analytics, including self-service methods, in parallel with implementation of any strategic platforms
Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and critical thinking by taking the initiative to explore Mizuho data independently and rigorously in order to expose underlying trends, performance drivers, and emerging issues
Develop and maintain data controls that ensure accuracy, consistency and detail of management reporting data
Research, collect and maintain financial and operational data for bench marking and performance ranking. Analyze historical trends, and present findings
REQUIREMENTS
Top notch analytical and problem-solving skills
Customer service orientation and passion for helping business stakeholders define metrics to assess and drive performance
Expertise in the design, creation, management and business application of performance metrics and dashboards, including visualization techniques
Proven track record leveraging data and analytics to drive meaningful business impact
3-5 years of relevant experience with the following:
Advanced MS Word / Excel (including nested formulas, macros, pivot tables, look-ups and VBA), SQL, PowerPoint and Access
Relational databases, online analytical processing (OLAP) tools, data mining
Database queries, stored procedure writing
SQL server integration services (SSIS), analysis services (SSAS), development of a plus
Data cleansing approaches / methodologies
Working knowledge of investment and corporate banking and capital market products
Knowledge in Salesforce, Qlik, PowerBI, Dealogic, Capital IQ and SAS a plus
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Motivated self-starter and team player who can navigate ambiguity effectively and drive decisions and change through influence and persuasion
Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, information systems or engineering or finance/accounting.
Attention to detail, strong quantitative skills, and high commitment to data accuracy
Demonstrate sense of urgency in meeting challenging deadlines and achieving goals
