Investor Services Intern (Fall 2019 through Spring 2020)
This position is a great entry level opportunity to gain exposure to the brokerage industry with potential for full time employment upon graduation. While this Internship is within the Finance industry, students of all backgrounds will be considered. The primary skills needed are an open-mind to learn how to exceed the expectations of a TD Ameritrade client, and a desire to learn more about the Brokerage industry.
This opportunity begins the day after Labor Day, 2019 and extends over the course of two traditional school semesters (Fall, 2019 and Spring, 2020), with an expectation that selected candidates will also work over the traditional school-year Winter break.
(Note: Seniors that graduate at the conclusion of the Fall, 2019 semester are still eligible for this opportunity; however, if selected, their Internship end-date would be following their school graduation in December, instead of the following spring.)
Candidates selected for this Internship will be required to work 20 hours per week during the school semesters (with additional hours available over Winter break) and must have availability to work 4 hour minimum shifts. Multiple shift options are available.
As an Investor Services Intern, you will be provided an opportunity to gain an overview of many segments of the brokerage operations industry through a series of meaningful, rotational learning experiences, which include both hands-on and observational roles. Your rotations will include exposure to equity trading, client service, sales, brokerage clearing and support organizations as well as a case study and a 'Final' group presentation to Senior Management.
Our Internship opportunity is designed around five core learning concepts/activities that will be present throughout our program:
As the Internship progresses, the balance of time in each activity will shift. (For example, the early months of the Internship will see the majority of time in Classroom training, but as the Internship progresses, more time will be spent in On-the-Job activities - primarily exceeding the expectations of TD Ameritrade clients on service phone calls.) However, while the time spent in each activity may change, you can anticipate that all five elements of the program will be offered each week throughout the entire school year.
T D Ameritrade was recognized by WayUp as a Top 100 Internship Program in 2018
