KBCM is a leading, full-service corporate and investment bank dedicated to serving the needs of middle market clients. The program provides interns the opportunity to refine current business skills, learn new ones, and apply them to identify corporate finance and capital markets solutions for our clients. KBCM will typically hire approximately 50 interns across various markets/cities each summer. Successful candidates will begin with an orientation that will introduce them to KeyBank and KeyBanc Capital Markets. As part of the onboarding process, there will be Excel and PowerPoint tips, etiquette training, resume counseling, along with additional on-the-job training to prepare for summer internship. Interns are provided direct coaching and feedback on their performance. They work with industry and product group bankers in cross-functional teams, originating and executing a wide variety of financial advisory and capital markets mandates. Interns also provide analytical support, including; financial statement analysis and model development, valuation analysis, industry research, and the preparation of various presentations and documents, including; information memorandums, management presentations, industry white papers, etc. Job duties may include: * Work with investment bankers and product partners on M&A/strategic alternative idea generation and pitches, corporate finance opportunities, and public and private, equity and debt, capital raising transactions. * Perform financial modeling and valuation analysis on public and private companies: comparable company analysis, precedent transaction analysis, leveraged and discounted cash flow analysis, including renewable energy project finance. * Generating ideas and analytical materials in support of new client meetings. * Developing marketing materials for topics such as company positioning, financing alternatives, and M&A Strategic alternatives. * Developing knowledge of relevant information resources: Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Thomson Financial, Pitchbook and 451 Research. * Groups where interns may be placed include: Corporate and Investment Banking, Mergers and Acquisitions, Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, and Syndicated Finance. * Interns may also work with industry groups like Industrial, Healthcare, Technology, Consumer, Utilities, Oil and Gas and Diversified. Required Qualifications: * Graduating with a degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related coursework by May 2020 * Outstanding academic achievement (minimum GPA 3.3) * Strong accounting and/or financial acumen * Good analytical and decision-making skills * Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills * Effective oral and written communication skills * Relevant work or internship experience * Eligibility to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future This position may be within the Public Finance or Technology group.
