- Assists Shift Leader in running shift
- Directs the work of shippers in the warehouse according to priorities established by the Shift Leaders
- Keeps Shift Leader informed, on a timely basis, of any safety hazards or problem situations
- Communicates specific shipping strategies with co-workers when necessary, or when changes occur
- Accurately and efficiently selects proper merchandise to fill customer orders
- Accurately and legibly completes necessary paperwork.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
- Loads trailers at any given time as required
- Follows company safety policies and procedures and good housekeeping practices
- Must coordinate and participate in housekeeping and clean up routines to keep warehouse neat and organized
- Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of Management
Required Skills
Required Experience
- Past leadership experience desired
- Ability to read, write, and do basic math
- Must have legible handwriting
- Must have proven ability to meet deadlines
- Experience with data entry/AS400 Mainframe system desired
- JDE and DSI knowledge preferred or willing to learn computer system
- Must be able to work as a team with fellow workers
- Considerable bending and lifting required (up to 50 lbs. on average/80 lbs. maximum)
- Considerable walking on cement floors
- Ability to operate various industrial equipment (forklift, reach truck, etc)
- Must work overtime as required
- Proven ability to accurately and legibly complete paperwork
