We are looking for a Floating Universal Specialist for our Southern Region. Landmark’s Universal Specialist pool is designed to provide a consistent source of well-trained Tellers to cover shortages in our branches. This is a unique opportunity to increase your skill set, create variety in your job, and receive an additional pay premium! This position will be working with members on opening various accounts, completion and processing of loan applications, and basic member service duties such as CD redemptions, accepting wire instructions and performing all types of cash handling / teller transactions.
Each Floating Universal Specialist will be based at a home branch location within the region and will be deployed to other branches or departments in the respective region on an as-needed basis.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Learn and become skilled at opening all forms of deposit accounts, including IRA and HSAs vehicles.
- Learn to proficiently perform loan interviewing.
- Sell debt protection and cross-sell other credit union services.
- Gain proficiency with credit scoring and analysis.
- Will learn the use of the Credit Guide Scoring System to help evaluate loan applications.
- Counsels members on the wise use of credit.
- Provides friendly, courteous, and expedient teller and other related services to members resulting in a balanced cash drawer daily.
- Cross-sells other services to members.
- Perform all teller transactions.
- May train to and perform overrides for other associates as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Required Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year experience within retail banking, preferably as a Teller.
- Demonstrated ability to refer or cross-sell products and/or prior sales experience preferred.
- Prior knowledge or the ability to quickly learn banking products including their benefits and features.
- Must have experience or be able to gain proficiency in all programs and systems used for this job.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, problem solving skills, organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Must have or be able to attain National Mortgage Licensing System registration (NMLS#).
- Must have a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to this position. Must understand and comply with all job-related State and federal laws and regulations.
