    The Leveraged and Acquisition Finance Analyst is a key role within the Leveraged and Acquisition Finance (“LAF”) team, responsible for working with Directors / Managing Directors to implement LAF's and the wider Investment Banking Group’s strategy. As a junior on the LAF team, you are responsible for helping to both win new business and executing / leading leveraged finance based transactions. You will be routinely interacting with clients and investors from a very junior level and will learn valuable critical thinking and financial analytical skills.     Here’s what you can expect:

    As the Leveraged and Acquisition Finance Analyst you will work as a generalist, covering a vast array of industries and both sub-investment grade and investment grade mega-cap clients. Additionally, there is a focus on covering Private Equity based clients in achieving some of their largest and most complicated buyouts. Key products you will be working with are leveraged loans, high yield bonds and other bank based financing products to support acquisitions, refinancing’s, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations and helping clients achieve their desired growth objectives.

    For this role, HSBC targets a fixed pay range between $100,000.00 and $110,000.00.

    The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

    Requirements

    • Finance or accounting knowledge. A strong understanding and interest in the financial markets
    • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
    • Background in financial modelling and valuation, with preference for formal credit training
    • One to two years of experience in investment banking, consulting, commercial banking or equivalent
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
    • Understanding of HSBC Group and products
    • High levels of motivation and strong work ethic
    • FINRA Series 79 and 63 licenses. These can be obtained after joining if not currently held.
