Louis Dreyfus Company, a privately held firm involved primarily in the international trading and merchandising of agricultural commodities, is looking for an ETD Clearing Reporting & Margin Associate to join the Term Commodities Department in the Wilton Office.This position is responsible for performing Regulatory reporting, Margins and Accounting procedures for the futures brokerage division of an international commodity trading firm.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Responsible for daily report upload and archive from clearing houses and outside brokers
- Perform daily P&L reconciliations for CBOT, ICEUS & ICEEU
- Back up Senior Associate for P&L reconciliations for the outside broker positions
- Perform daily option reconciliations for all Exchanges and customers
- Prepares margin payment calculations, post and verifies cash transactions
- Prepares initial margin schedules for all Exchanges and customers
- Performs procedures for daily journal entry
- Performs daily reconciliation relating to brokerage and fee rates for all Exchanges
- Responsible for monthly fee and commission schedule preparation
- Prepares ICEUS and UBS data feeds monthly analyses
- Performs projects and changes to procedures with assistance from supervisor
Additional responsibilities:
- Back up for other departmental functions
- Participates in cross training within the department and across the Clearing Operations team to ensure coverage when others are out
- In the absence of the Senior Associate, prepare analysis of the day's margin calls and estimates for the following day to Global Treasury and Global CFOs.
Required Skills
The following are the basic qualifications:
- Knowledge of back office software such as ION RISC
- Familiarity of brokerage payment systems such as CBOT Gains, Atlantis.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Ability to work in fast-paced, reactive, and challenging trading environments
- Detail-oriented and able recognize discrepancies
- Ability to multi-task, manage a team and make deadlines
- Basic proficiency with Word and Outlook
- Basic proficiency in Excel including pivot tables and lookups
Required Experience
The following is the required qualifications:
With a Bachelor’s degree,1 (plus) years of experience in commodities back office operations
With a High School diploma, 3 years of experience in back office operations
EDUCATION/PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following is the required qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Economics or related field with 1 (plus) years of experience in back office operations. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics or related field, a High School diploma with 3 years of experience in back office operations.
The following is the preferred qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Economics or related field
WORKING CONDITIONS
Typical climate-controlled office environment. Hours of this role are 7am – 3pm. Extensions of regular working hours are necessary (before or after typical business day) to complete time-sensitive projects, attend training or to respond to emergencies.
