Maxim Group is seeking financial consultant trainees for our New York City midtown Manhattan office, specifically within the Merchant Capital Division. Maxim’s Merchant Capital Division leverages a network of global resources to match emerging growth companies with capital and expertise through an effective distribution platform. The Financial Consultant position is a highly entrepreneurial role, requiring extensive client development, prospecting, and consultative selling. Day to day job description includes the following: prospecting high-net-worth individuals and institutions via telephone for investment criteria with a specific focus on private/pre-public investments within the biotechnology sector. We will provide sponsorship for Series 7/Series 63 licensing.

We will be hiring up to 6 FC Trainees to work alongside two senior-level producers with over 36 years combined experience.

• Bachelor's Degree
• Excellent communication skills and an outgoing personality
• A proven ability to articulate yourself effectively
• A natural enthusiasm for sales and or telephone work
• A high level of integrity
• A general understanding of the financial markets and private/public companies
• An unparalleled work ethic and the want to achieve an extremely high level of success relative to your peers
• Strong mathematical background

Qualifications that may be helpful but are NOT mandatory:

• Series 7/Series 63 licenses
• Cold calling experience
• Sales experience
• Bilingual, fluid in additional languages beyond English
• An interest or background in biotechnology/life sciences/healthcare
• An existing network of individuals or institutions who are interested in alternative investments
