Colorado Springs, CO 80906 Internship Responsibilities The applications
co-op/intern will provide hardware and software support to senior level
applications engineers within Microchips Wireless Solutions Group (WSG).
The goal is to make it easy for our customers to design products using
Microchips expanding family of highly integrated wireless radio
receivers, transmitters, and transceivers that operate across the
frequency spectrum of 125KHz to 8GHz. Duties may include the following:
- Assist in development of schematic diagrams & PCB layouts for
reference designs and standalone demos, as skills allow. * Assist in
development of firmware and GUIs for reference designs and standalone
demos, as skills allow. * Assist in development of test software &
scripts for use in the production of Application Tool Kits, as skills
allow. * Prepare written documents such as application tool user guides
& other documentation. * Soldering of prototype reference designs and
standalone demos. * Testing and debugging of reference designs and
standalone demos. Requirements Familiarity with C & C# software
programming languages. Familiarity with RF receivers, transmitters,
transceivers which operate from 315MHz to 8.0GHz. Familiarity with the
design of 8 & 32 bit microcontroller based embedded systems and their
development systems, especially FLASH & EEPROM programming tools.
Familiarity with schematic entry & PCB layout tools such as Altium
Experience with basic laboratory test & measurement devices such as
oscilloscopes, multi-meters, DC power supplies, signal generators,
arbitrary waveform generators, logic analysers, etc. Must possess
excellent verbal and written skills including ability to write clear and
concise technical documentation in English. Proficient in MSOffice
including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint & Excel. Must possess an eager
attitude toward learning new skills & technology. Ability to work in
team environment. Must currently be enrolled in a 2 or 4 year program.
Preferred Skills Familiarity with languages such as Python, Java &
LabVIEW. Familiar with automotive systems, hardware and software.
Familiar with software, protocol stacks & layers used for wireless
communication such as Bluetooth Low Energy, and IEEE 15.4. Familiar with
software used in wireless communication modulation, encoding and
encryption techniques such as OOK, ASK, FSK, GFSK, BPSK, Manchester,
NRZ, AES & ECC. Familiar with software used in wired communication
standards such as; USB, I2C, SPI, UART, CAN & LIN. 1 hour ago - save job
